Auxiliary submarines were designed for special missions.  These missions were very wide-ranging in scope.  Theu included sonar research/testing, dockside training, submarine oiler, personnel transports, and Guided Missile submarines.    

    Because this site is a site for Guppy submarines, only those that received a Guppy configuration are listed.  Although some of the Auxiliary Submarines did in fact receive snorkel additions, they were not, to my knowledge, ever reclassified as a Guppy. 

    If anyone finds the information contained on this page to be in error, or have additions that have been missed, please let me know.  I want this to be as accurate as possible and do not want to leave out a single boat that should be listed here.  Your guidance and assistance will be greatly appreciated.
